Meet Lou Anne
Hi, I'm Lou Anne.

I believe we are living in a time that is asking us to remember who we are—and to stop giving our power away.

Beneath the expectations, old stories, fear, and all the ways we've learned to become who we think we should be, there is something deeper that has never left us: the wisdom of the body, the knowing of the heart, and the light within. This is what I'm here to help you remember.

My understanding of life and healing has been shaped by both science and nursing. Fifteen years working in laboratory science taught me to observe, question, and respect the complexity of living systems. Ten years in nursing brought me into a much more personal relationship with the human body—and with the resilience of the human spirit. Over time, I came to understand that knowledge is only part of the picture. Sometimes healing begins when we slow down enough to listen—to the body, to ourselves, and to what we've been carrying.

Some of my deepest understanding came through my own experience. For much of my life, I lived with anxiety — with people pleasing, shame, and the quiet fear of not being enough. Somewhere around 50, something shifted. The old ways of being no longer fit. I began questioning the stories I had carried for so long—who I was supposed to be, what was expected of me, and how much of myself I had learned to give away.

It was during this time that I found Reiki, and something in me recognized it. My healing wasn't about trying harder to fix myself or becoming someone new. It came through learning to soften, listen, regulate, and reconnect with the deeper Self that had always been there beneath the fear. Reiki opened the door to an entirely different understanding of the body, energy, and our innate capacity for healing. Jin Shin Jyutsu came later, deepening that understanding and offering another gentle way of helping the body return to harmony.
I created Solshine Reiki as a place where you can exhale—where the body grows still, the breath deepens, and the inner sun begins to rise again. That inner sun is at the heart of my practice: the solar plexus, our center of personal power and authentic expression. When we gently tend that inner fire, we create space for greater clarity, trust, and the courage to live more fully as ourselves.

Grounded in the earth and warmed by the sun, I hold space for both steadiness and expansion—for rootedness and radiance. I am most at home near the water, with bare feet on the earth and the sun on my face. Whether sitting quietly with animals or the natural world, walking along the shore, or supporting a client, I am reminded of the connection woven through all living things.

I walk this path with reverence and joy. My hope is simple: to help you remember your own light—because you were never separate from it.
My Philosophy
I believe in a partnership that honors your innate capacity for healing and helps you reconnect with your own power. I offer a gentle, divinely guided and never forced energy to you in a safe and sacred space. In this partnership, Reiki harmoniously integrates the body, mind and spirit to bring balance for healing. This allows greater clarity and awareness to unfold in our day to day lives so we can recognize our power within and truly free the story we tell ourselves.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
